Thankfully Mothers Day is not such a big deal here (ours was in March sometime) although it is growing. When I was a kid it wasn't anything at all unless you went to church (I didn't) not even making cards in kindergarden. It is however growing thanks to Hallmark etc and I wish it wouldn't.
